Ideal Contracting is proud to announce that we have been honored with the Joseph R. La Rocca Union Project of the Year Award by The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) at their Construction Leadership Conference.

Our team received this prestigious recognition for our work on the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory restoration project on Belle Isle in Detroit. The project was awarded in the $5 million–$50 million category and was one of only two projects recognized nationwide this year, an achievement that underscores the significance of this work.

Completed at the end of 2024, the conservatory restoration has now earned five awards, reflecting the exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and collaboration that brought this historic landmark back to life. From preserving the structure’s architectural integrity to modernizing key elements for long-term sustainability, this project stands as a testament to what can be accomplished through strong union partnership and a shared commitment to excellence.

We are incredibly proud of our team and trade partners whose skill and dedication made this transformational project possible. Their efforts not only restored a beloved community asset, but also ensured it will serve future generations for years to come.

Thank you to TAUC for this honorable recognition, and congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this iconic Detroit landmark back to life.
