While things are coming close to an end at LSA, the Michigan Union building is starting up! I’ve been seeing how much paper work, coordination, meetings, and communication needs to be involved in order to get this project to be done properly and in order. On Tuesday, the team and I had a walkthrough meeting in Ann Arbor to see the new project.
On Wednesday, there was an industrial hygiene class held in Building C held by Travelers Insurance and hosted by Ideal Contracting. It was an interesting class to take because we got to learn about how to properly take samples and actually learn how to use the equipment that will be used on-site. Another thing we learned about was noise and when to properly use hearing protection which should be at 85 decibels. We also learned how to use a device that detects the level of noise.
Lastly, the interns and I got together for the After 5 intern event! It was cool to see other companies and interns to get a chance to mingle and network with them. While talking to some interns at DTE, I learned that DTE has about 500 interns! After we made our rounds, we went over to Vicente’s for delicious Cuban food! Thank you Yesi and Alex for coming down and hanging out with us! It was a lot of fun!
