Week 5 – PDPM MPG – Michael Penland

Good Afternoon,
This week I was able to make it out to the Brownstown battery plant with Andrew Milkey. He gave me a tour of the projects that have taken place down there and also should me where a future project would be taking place. That same day we drove over to the Willow Run Facility to walk a new job with the client. It was fun to be able to see a few other GM sites that we do work at. This Thursday also was the first After 5 event. Four of the Ideal interns including myself showed up to the kick-off event. The sponsor for the first event brought in a few food trucks and an ice cream cart for us to enjoy. The event was held at Beacon Park just outside the DTE building downtown. They had music, ping pong, volleyball, and other yard games for people to play. I enjoyed the event because we were able to meet and talk to other interns from other companies in the Detroit. From a work stand point it is starting to pick up out here in Milford. I was able to get a lot more practice this week sending out LOI’s and sending out for New Job Numbers. I Also have taken the lead on a new baler install project out in Milford. I am becoming more comfortable in the position I am in and excited to see how the rest of the summer progresses.
