This week I’ve been looking into the different types of steel that are used onsite. Two steels that I constantly see on drawings are A36 steel and A992 steel. These types of steel are more common structural uses of steel. A36 is a common structural steel that is easier to fabricate and can be galvanized to prevent the steel from corroding.  A992 steel is used for mainly bridges or buildings. The two types of steels have different mechanical properties which makes them distinct from one another.
The project has been advancing really well so far. My project superintendent has been putting up 20-48 pieces of steel per day! I’ve posted below a few pictures of the progression done so far.
