Week 11 – U of M LSA / Iron Workers Training Center – Miranda Zamora

This week I had Manuel come visit LSA and gave him a tour on the structure and also the Union. He asked a lot of questions to my superintendent which was really cool because I also got to learn something new! The interns also were given the chance to visit the iron workers training center. This was an awesome experience because we were able to learn how weld and torch! I’ve always wanted to learn how to weld and I had a really cool apprentice teach me what he knew! I was genuinely interested in learning techniques and what a good weld looked like. With my new knowledge I was able to make a bookend! It didn’t look good but all I cared about was that it had good welds and that it wouldn’t break. Thank you Ideal for giving us interns the opportunity to expand our knowledge!
