Good morning everyone,
My name is Jacob Rhodes and this will be my first summer with the Build U Internship program. I have previously had two internships in the construction industry and I am very excited to get started here at Ideal.
This past week has been very eventful with lots of excitement. My first day at Ideal was Monday 5/14, and I have been assigned to the GM Warren Tech Center where I will be working with my mentor, Dan Salkowski. I can already tell that working here in PDPM will expose me to some very unique and interesting projects and that it will be a great learning experience. I have already gotten the chance to see a lot of awesome jobs on site tours this last week.
The Build U Internship Orientation took place on Wednesday. It laid out expectations for the interns this summer and gave everyone a chance to get to know one another. Throughout the orientation, we all had a great time playing Mega-Jenga during breaks. Following orientation, we attended a Tiger’s game which was a blast and gave us some more time to get to know each other better.
I’m very excited for what this summer has in store and I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences with you all on the Build U blog.
