Project Overview

ZEISS, an international leader in technology, operates in many technological fields including industrial metrology. The goal of this project was to consolidate several technology, design, and manufacturing facilities throughout Southeast Michigan into one centralized location.

Ideal Contracting was awarded the contract by Christman Constructors to self-perform the erection of approximately 500 tons of structural, miscellaneous, and ornamental steel. The contract also included architectural wood columns containing stainless steel caps and base connections. The wood columns were value-engineered by the Ideal team which resulted in saved time and money for the customer. Overall, the envisioned architectural look was able to be successfully obtained under budget.
