Ideal Contracting self-performed the erection of 150 precast panels for a new WSU facility located in the heart of Midtown on the corner of Cass and Forest.
Due to the nature of its unique design, the project required an incredible amount of abnormal bracing, which created an abundance of logistical challenges to install. The team used specialized man baskets and equipment that allowed us to weld the temporary bracing more efficiently. The site’s small footprint required extensive planning and coordination to ensure the safe utilization of multiple cranes, and man-lifts in close proximity. Additionally, the structural steel roof systems required installment prior to the bracing being removed due to the design of the building.
The new building will house two state-of-the-art theatres with 21st-century technology design, the production facilities, and the Gretchen Valade Jazz Center.
