Project Overview

Ideal Contracting served as the general contractor for the University of Michigan School of Dentistry Digital Dentistry Center. This project included the demolition and renovation of two dental labs within the building, totaling approximately 1,075 square feet. These rooms were transformed into a digital dental innovation center, with one room serving as a fabrication lab and the other as a finishing lab.

Due to construction taking place in an active classroom space, all loud work and corridor activities were completed by 7:45 AM and were not resumed until after 6:00 PM. This posed significant scheduling challenges as the work was inherently noisy. To adhere to the noise restrictions and ensure that students and faculty could operate in a productive learning environment, Ideal closely coordinated with our trade partners to ensure all team members arrived on site fully prepared to complete their tasks before the time deadlines.

These lab renovations have helped maintain the University’s ranking as one of the top dental programs in the country.
