University of Michigan MLB Media Center Renovations

Project Overview

Ideal Contracting served as the general contractor for the UM MLB Media Center Renovation. The scope of work for this project consisted of renovations and upgrades to the University of Michigan’s 2nd floor media center space and all associated rooms. Specifically, there were electrical upgrades such as additional monitors and TVs, new flooring, base, and paint throughout the space. Our team also completed upgrades to multiple conference rooms and converted an old storage room to a small kitchenette space that the students and staff can utilize.

One of main challenges of this project was that it was completed while classes were being held in the building. This caused noise constraints that needed to be appropriately managed by Ideal and our trade partners. Additionally, the project needed to be turned over before full-time students returned to classes in the Fall of 2024. Ideal Contracting successfully completed the renovations and upgrades and turned the project over to the owner without any roadblocks.
