Project Overview

Ideal Contracting was proud to serve as the general contractor for the University of Michigan’s Angel Hall Renovations, a transformative project designed to enhance the Comprehensive Studies Program (CSP) suite. Focused on creating a more functional, inclusive, and welcoming environment, the renovation supports both students and staff in meaningful ways.

The scope included subdividing and modernizing private offices, building open seating areas for students, and constructing a flexible classroom with floor-to-ceiling markerboards and a folding partition to accommodate various group sizes. A shared coffee bar and kitchen were added to foster community, while upgraded security features ensure a safe and accessible space.

As a 100-year-old building, Angel Hall presented unique challenges—especially outdated MEP documentation. Through extensive coordination and problem-solving, our team successfully delivered a space that reflects the university’s commitment to equity, learning, and innovation.
