Project Overview

Ideal Contracting furnished and installed 200 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel to reinforce and stabilize the 33-story structure, originally built in 1924. After years of dilapidation, Ideal Contracting’s attention to detail throughout the project helped to return the historic Westin Book Cadillac Hotel to its grandeur.

Working together with the structural engineer, Ideal Contracting provided continuous savings through value engineering as hidden problems were discovered throughout the structural renovation. An icon of luxury, The Westin Book Cadillac Hotel on Washington Boulevard now stands as a symbol of talented Detroit contractors and their dedication to the revival of the great Motor City. After renovations were completed, The Westin Book Cadillac Hotel received the 2009 National Trust for Historic Preservation Award and is also recognized as a coveted AAA Four Diamond Hotel.
