Project Overview

The State of Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds recently upgraded its north-side entry gate, which accounts for about 80% of the fair’s traffic. Ideal Contracting was responsible for furnishing and erecting the steel for the new entry gate canopy and ticket booths, and for coordinating the installation of the tensile fabric system on the canopy.

Working as a trade partner to Turner Construction, Ideal partnered with Dave Steel Company, which fabricated the entry gate steel, and with Birdair, which provided and installed the tensile fabric system. Our team managed the unique and complex coordination between steel erection and fabric installation to ensure a smooth process and on-time delivery for this high-profile venue upgrade. The result is a striking new gateway into the Ohio State Fairgrounds, enhancing the visitor experience while setting the stage for future improvements.
