Ideal Contracting was awarded the contract to furnish and erect the structural and miscellaneous steel for perimeter buildings AB, C, and DE at the Little Caesars Arena. Both Building AB and C of the arena are multi-story buildings that consist of 4 levels each.
Building AB consisted of approximately 790 tons of structural steel. Building C and DE consisted of approximately 850 tons of structural steel combined. Each of the buildings were erected in a very tight footprint as they acted as the south and east exterior walls of the arena. In addition to the structural and miscellaneous steel, Ideal was also contracted to self-perform the civil and concrete work for Buildings AB, C, and DE. Being involved with the civil, underground MEP, concrete, and steel allowed Ideal Contracting to utilize much of the work area and to coordinate all disciplines to meet the difficult schedule requirements.
