Project Overview

Ideal Contracting was the Design-Build General Contractor for the new 120,000-square-foot Sequencing Facility Addition to the Fort Wayne Assembly Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The new 45-bay steel building was built on a foundation comprised of concrete caissons, grade beams, and pile caps, with an insulated foam panel wall system. The building included (17) truck docks with overhead doors and dock levelers as well as (2) grade-level truck doors. Also, part of the project was interior masonry restrooms, team rooms, new and relocated site utilities, site concrete/asphalt paving, and site landscaping. The new building serves two functions, one as a warehouse in approximately half the space and the balance as a parts sequencing area for the new truck line. Working with Ghafari Associates, the project took eight months to complete and was finished on schedule and under budget.
