Project Overview

Ideal Contracting was awarded the General Motors Global Technical Center Campbell Ewald Building Renovation project with a scope that consisted of two phases. General Motors’ promotion of an open, collaborative design created an environment that fosters greater teamwork and communication.

Phase I included the removal of existing furnishings, selective demolition of interior structures, and replacement of the mechanical and electrical systems of the ten-story building. Phase II consisted of the build-out of three floors of offices. Due to the compressed schedule and scope of work, Ideal supported the demolition contractor with additional labor resources, resulting in 300 daily man-hours during demolition. The second phase of the renovation also included new mechanical systems such as new fire protection systems, new air distribution systems, plumbing systems, rooftop units, refurbishment of existing air handling units, and a new Siemens building management system.

Project Highlights
