The Building 31 Office Renovation project included the demolition and renovation of 37,500-square-feet of office space. The scope of work also consisted of updating the mechanical systems and fire suppression according to code.
One of the challenges Ideal had to overcome during this project was occupancy coordination. Employees on the floor where construction was taking place had to be relocated before it began. Ideal’s Special Projects team constructed the turnaround place for the end users to occupy while construction was occurring. The management of the occupancy constraints was done through the project schedule and weekly owner meetings. Additional organization was required throughout the project as the client wanted the gateway design reviews incorporated into the schedule. Ideal managed this process by holding internal meetings referencing the contract documents to incorporate the gateway design reviews within the schedule.
