Project Overview

Ford Motor Company has chosen Michigan as the home of its new Blue Oval Battery Park, a landmark development in Marshall that will strengthen Ford’s electric vehicle battery capabilities and advance the future of EV manufacturing.

Ideal Contracting was proud to serve as the structural steel trade partner to Walbridge for this impactful project. Our team erected all structural and miscellaneous steel for the 1.2-million-square-foot battery plant, totaling approximately 25,000 tons of steel. In addition to steel erection, our scope included extensive Design-Assist services and the installation of precast concrete.

Collaboration was key to success. We worked closely with Walbridge and the engineering and design teams, engaging strategically with steel fabricators—including Merrill Steel, Cives Steel Company, SteelFab, ANJ, and Vanco—to meet critical deadlines and ensure seamless trade turnover. Most importantly, the work was completed safely.

We’re proud to have contributed to this groundbreaking project and to support Ford’s continued leadership in the automotive industry.
