Project Overview

Ideal Contracting served as the steel erector on the new HYCO facility, built, owned, and operated by Air Products. The project consisted of 13 “MEGA” modules ranging from 50,000 lbs. to 350,000 lbs.

Ideal, through the help of Ruby Associates, developed engineering plans incorporating the use of two large crawler cranes, a Manitowoc 999 and 16000. In addition, Ideal erected the reformer walls and truss boxes. The HYCO facility now feeds the Marathon refinery with hydrogen and is used in the process of producing fuel.
