Project Overview:

Ideal Contracting was the 3D BIM Design-Build General Contractor on a new 39,000-square-foot Sequencing Facility Addition to the Pontiac Assembly Center in Pontiac, Michigan. The new 16 bay steel building was built on a foundation comprised of concrete caissons, grade beams and pile caps, with an exterior wall system of 2” insulated foam panels.

The building included 16 truck docks with overhead doors and dock levelers as well as 2 grade level truck doors. In addition to this, the scope of work included interior masonry restrooms, team rooms, new and relocated site utilities, site concrete/asphalt paving and site landscaping.

The new building serves two functions, one as a warehouse in approximately half the space and the balance as a parts sequencing area for the new truck line. Working with Ghafari Associates, the project took five months to complete and was finished on schedule and under budget.
