Project Overview:

Over the course of two years, Ideal Contracting installed support steel and platforms in four DTE Energy Power Plants: DTE St. Clair, DTE Trenton, DTE Belle River, and DTE River Rouge.

The scope of work included erecting approximately 1,000 tons of structural steel, as well as 800 linear feet of box trestle. Each presented its own unique challenges. Ideal planned each trestle lift strategically to stay on schedule without any incidents.  At DTE River Rouge, a crane block ballast was put in place to offset the center of gravity of a 35-ton modularized trestle due to an existing catwalk. A 300-foot box trestle was set in three stages over the course of one weekend at DTE St. Clair, and a 150-foot box trestle was also set in place in one morning at DTE Trenton. The precautions and planning Ideal invested in this project lead to an on-time completion without incidents.
