We continue to see strong momentum in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. Although the projects may not always match the scale of the massive 4-million-square-foot facilities we’ve delivered in the past, the demand for EV-related infrastructure remains steady and is expected to continue well into the future. These projects are vital to supporting the nation’s transition to clean energy and sustainable transportation, and we’re proud to play a role in building the facilities that make that possible. 

Beyond EV and data center work, we’re also contributing to a wide range of other mission-critical sectors, including advanced manufacturing, energy, and logistics.

What role do you see steel erection playing in the future of construction, especially with the rise of AI, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure? 

Steel will continue to play a vital role in the future of construction, particularly as we see rapid growth in AI, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure. These technologies are driving demand for new types of facilities that require robust, scalable, and precise structural solutions. Steel is uniquely positioned to meet these needs. 

As digital infrastructure expands, so does the need for reliable power. We anticipate a significant increase in electrical and energy-related projects aimed at strengthening the power grid to support the rising demand from AI and cloud technologies. Steel erection will be central to building the substations, transmission hubs, and facilities that make this expansion possible. 

Steel’s versatility, strength, and speed of installation make it an ideal choice for mission-critical projects. A few years ago, we saw a surge in manufacturing facilities across the southern U.S. Today, there’s a noticeable shift back to the Midwest, with states like Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana becoming key hubs for new development.
