May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the importance of mental well-being and to recognize the many resources available to support those in need.
At Ideal Contracting, we’re proud to offer a comprehensive health and benefits package designed to support our team members in every aspect of their well-being. We organize our benefits into three interconnected pillars: Health Wellness, Mental Wellness, and Financial Wellness. Together, these pillars form a holistic approach to supporting our employees, each one reinforcing the others to promote overall wellness.
When it comes to mental health, we’ve introduced a variety of resources that work together to provide well-rounded, accessible support for all team members, including our tradesmen and tradeswomen working across our project sites. One of our key partnerships is with Modern Assistance, a trusted employee assistance program with over 30 years of experience. This 24/7, year-round service connects employees with licensed professionals who offer support in areas such as:
- short-term behavioral health counseling
- virtual therapy
- anger management support
- education and training
- and much more!

In addition to Modern Assistance, Ideal Contracting has also partnered with CredibleMind to provide our employees with free, confidential online resources aimed at promoting our mental health. CredibleMind, which, like Modern Assistance, is available to all employees, offers a wide range of self-guided tools, articles, videos, and assessments. These resources are designed to help individuals better understand their mental health, build resilience, and explore personal growth at their own pace. Whether someone is looking to manage stress, improve sleep, or strengthen relationships, CredibleMind provides evidence-based support in a user-friendly format.
“Partners such as PNC, Fidelity, Pacific Life, Colonial Life, and Hantz Financial are also available to our employees so they can manage their personal banking, health savings accounts, 401K accounts, various insurance needs, and estate planning needs,” says Sheila Gorski, Human Resource Manager. “Attention to financial wellness is crucial as it can significantly impact our overall well-being.”
Earlier this year, the Ideal Human Resources Department hosted a “Benefits Bonanza” to help team members better understand the wide range of benefits available to them. The event featured representatives from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, PNC, Modern Assistance, and many other valued partners, who shared valuable insights and resources to support our team’s well-being and financial health.
At Ideal Contracting, we understand that mental wellness is not a one-size-fits-all journey. That’s why we’re committed to offering diverse, accessible, and confidential resources that meet our team members where they are—whether on a job site, in the office, or at home.
Beyond the tools and platforms, we believe that creating a culture of openness and support is just as important. Our leadership team actively encourages conversations around mental health, helping to reduce stigma and promote a workplace where it’s okay to not be okay. We regularly share wellness tips, host check-ins, and provide training for managers to recognize signs of stress and burnout.
Sheila adds that, “My mission is to connect our employees to the resources when they need them and to ensure that they take full advantage of the benefits available to them. The best benefits are the ones that we know how to engage with and utilize when it matters most.”
Mental Health Awareness Month is a timely reminder of the importance of prioritizing well-being, but our commitment doesn’t stop at the end of May. We are continuously evaluating and evolving our wellness offerings based on employee feedback and emerging best practices. Our goal is to ensure that every team member feels supported, valued, and empowered to take care of their mental health year-round.
