What are you looking to get out of this internship?
What I’m looking to get out of this internship is day-to-day hands-on experience. As a senior at Indiana State University, my experience so far has been limited to online classes. I was eager to learn how to handle real RFI’s, perform takeoffs and estimates, track site progress, and manage scheduling. Lastly, witnessing the progress of the work I’m involved in firsthand has been a rewarding experience.
What goals do you have within the construction industry?
Long-term, my goal is to become a Project Manager. In the short-term, I aim to continue gaining knowledge and experience to become as proficient as possible in my future role.
What has been the best experience in the Build U Internship Program so far?
So far, I’ve enjoyed our field trips. Visiting both the Laborer’s Training Facility and Vulcraft’s shop was a fascinating experience. Apart from the field trips, my time here at the Ford Hub has been enjoyable. I’ve learned a lot and gained valuable hands-on experience, which was exactly what I was hoping for from this internship.
