Robotics Engineering Center of Detroit: ESD’s 2026 Horace H. Rackham Humanitarian Award

The Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation’s Robotics Engineering Center of Detroit (RECD) supports K–12 FIRST Robotics teams with the tools, materials, and space to build and program competitive robots. More than technical training, it fosters confidence, collaboration, and curiosity as students compete statewide and across the country, discovering new possibilities for their futures. Driven by our own Frank Venegas, as well as a host of other local leaders and partners, RECD continues to open doors and create lasting impact across the Detroit community.
