GM Lansing Grand River’s New LOC Addition

Ideal Contracting Self-Performed Structural and Misc Steel Erection on 400,000 SF LOC for General Motors, subcontracted by Barton Malow. Local 25 Iron Workers performed over 14,500 hours on the project. The management team for the project consisted of Project Director Mark Braekevelt, Sr. Project Engineer Steve Piatt, Project Engineer Dave McCrary and Project Superintendent Tony Poma. The team subcontracted with five steel suppliers including Ideal Shield to provide the material. The major obstacle for the project was the complete re-design of the building AFTER shop drawings were submitted, resulting in the project being delayed four months.
