On July 15, 2014, Ideal Contracting interns began construction of the newest addition to Scarcyny Park, the amphitheater. This was one of the two service days Ideal Contracting interns performed this summer. The amphitheater will be used for “Movie Nights in the Park”, which are sponsored by Ideal Contracting, and other special events. Alongside the theatre will also be a new, circular garden. The containers used in the garden are repurposed electric battery containers donated by General Motors. Concrete from the recently resurfaced Ideal Group parking lot was also repurposed. The concrete was used in the retaining wall along the backside of the amphitheater to support the berm. The berm will be seeded with grass which will provide seating.
