Chris Kuenzer: Warren Tech Center Field Trip

On Thursday this week, Alex, James, and I took a field trip to the Warren Tech Center for an afternoon. I met most of the people that Ideal has working out there, and got to see the projects that they are currently working on. We spent most of our time there checking out a garage area that is being completely renovated. They were finishing a concrete pour while we were there, and a few of their cement finishers took the time to explain to me what they were doing, as well as what they still had to do. We met one of the superintendents, Dave Bourgeois, and he explained how they were going to install the new lifts and other equipment, and he also showed us around one of the other jobs he was working on nearby.
Alex and I have been working on labor tracking for the past two days, which mostly consists of making sure all of the hours on several different spreadsheets actually add up. It’s kind of tedious, but it is very important to make sure that we are staying on track with our estimate, and also our budget.
