What are you looking to get out of this internship?

What I’m looking to get out of this internship is day to day hands on experience. As a senior at Indiana State University, my experience so far is limited to only online classes. I was eager to learn how to complete real RFI’s, takeoffs, estimates, site progress tracking, and scheduling. Lastly, seeing what I am working on progress firsthand has been a cool experience.

What goals do you have within the construction industry?

Long-term, I hope to one day become a Project Manager. Short-term, I hope to continue to gain knowledge and experience to be as proficient at my future job as possible.

What has been the best experience in the Build U Internship Program so far?

So far, I’ve enjoyed our field trips. Touring both the Laborer’s Training Facility and Vulcraft’s shop was a neat experience. Outside of the field trips, I’ve enjoyed my experience here at the Ford Hub. I’ve learned a lot and gained hands-on experience that I was hoping to receive during this internship.
