On Thursday, August 15, the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on Belle Isle celebrated its new steel trusses with a reopening ceremony. The ceremony celebrated the replacement of 21-foot steel trusses within the lower portion of the dome. Ideal Contracting replaced the original steel trusses with galvanized steel. The public will be able to view the condition of the old trusses, through a sculpture. Artists Erik and Israel Nordin created a sculpture made out of the old leaded trusses, which is located inside the conservatory. Visit the newly renovated Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and check out the sculpture!
